Jeff Hale is a multidisciplinary designer, educator, and creative director with more than 25 years of experience shaping brand identities and visual systems across print, digital, and environmental media. Early in his career, he worked with several notable design firms, including Duffy Partners, where he was a lead designer on the award-winning Islands of the Bahamas identity.

After earning his MFA from the University of Washington in 2008, Jeff moved to Providence, teaching art and design before relocating to Portland, Oregon. There, he freelanced for Central Office and later founded his own design consultancy. His work spans packaging, brand identity, naming, signage, illustration and editorial design for clients such as ESPN, Tabasco, Wyoming Whiskey, MTV Networks, Nike, General Mills, and RISD. He also served as the first Head of Design at Walrus, overseeing design across the agency.

Jeff has taught at RISD, Brown University, Rhode Island College, and PNCA. His practice centers on craft, clarity, and cross-disciplinary exploration.

Jeff lives in Portland, Oregon with his family.
