Jeff Hale is a multidisciplinary designer, educator, and creative director with more than 25 years of experience shaping brand identities and visual systems across print, digital and environmental media. After attending the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA., Jeff worked with several acclaimed design firms and advertising agencies, including Duffy Partners, where he served as lead designer on the refreshed identity for the Islands of the Bahamas—an effort recognized with a One Club Gold Pencil.

After earning his MFA from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2008, Jeff founded his own design consultancy in Portland, Oregon. Jeff has contributed to award-winning work spanning packaging, brand identity, naming, signage and wayfinding, editorial design, and illustration. His diverse portfolio includes projects for clients such as ESPN, Tabasco, BBC TV & News, MTV Networks, and the Rhode Island School of Design.

In addition to his professional practice, Jeff has held teaching appointments at the Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University, Rhode Island College, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art, where he has taught drawing, design, and typography. His work and teaching reflect a deep commitment to craft, concept, and cross-disciplinary exploration—bridging the worlds of design, art, and visual communication.
